About Us

More Than Just a Call

For me, call making has never simply been about making something that produces a sound. It’s about hunting, craftsmanship, tradition, and the memories that come with all three.

Our roots in call making go back to southeastern Ohio and a shared passion for turkey hunting. I began making mouth calls in 2001, and in 2006, my cousin Cody began making our first pot calls. Those early mouth calls and pot calls helped lay the foundation for what would eventually become Greens Run Calls.

As time went on, I took over the call making and eventually took over the entire business myself. Since then, I’ve continued to expand what we build while refining the designs and methods behind them. Today, my shop produces mouth calls, pot calls, box calls, locator calls, deer calls, strikers, and other hunting calls.

A lot has changed since those early days, but the goal has remained the same: build calls I would be proud to carry into the woods myself.

Greens Run Calls represents the foundation of the business—a line of dependable, field-ready calls built for hunters.

Mark 6 Customs represents another side of my call making: individually crafted calls, unique woods, limited pieces, and custom work that allows me to spend more time on the details and create something truly one of a kind.

Every call that leaves my shop reflects more than two decades of call making and a lifetime spent hunting. I’m constantly experimenting, refining designs, trying different materials, and looking for ways to make the next call better than the last.

That pursuit has also resulted in multiple first-place awards in the World Call Builders Competition, but awards have never been the reason I build calls.

The real reward comes when someone sends me a picture of a bird they called in, tells me about a hunt with their son or daughter, or carries one of my calls into the woods year after year.

Because eventually, a hunting call becomes more than wood, latex, glass, slate, or aluminum.

It becomes part of the story.
